For the second year in a row, SagaMoose was able to get out of camp for a night to enjoy the Great New York State Fair with SagaStaff friends! It’s a trip he’s been looking forward to all summer and it definitely lived up to expectations.
SagaMoose, now an experienced fair-goer, headed straight for some of the classics of the State Fair, including the butter sculpture.
Next he headed to the Iroquois Village just in time to catch a traditional dance performance. Very impressive.
On the way back to the center of the fair, he enjoyed a stroll through the various animal barns, and appreciated the opportunity to hang out with some fellow ungulates.
In all the hustle and bustle of the fair, it was nice to take advantage of some quieter moments at the Christmas Tree Framers’ Association collection of lovely little pines.
Of the many State Fair must-sees, the Dr. Suess sand sculpture was a personal favorite!
Our tuckered out moose found a nice place to rest at the end of the day before heading home with SagaStaff. So much to see and do at the Fair! He couldn’t possibly fit everything into one day, but he made a decent attempt.
SagaMoose enjoyed getting to spend time with SagaStaff outside of camp and to see the great things other regions of New York have to offer. Do you have any end of summer trips you’d like to have SagaMoose join you for? Are you interested in hosting our moose at your house for a couple days? He loves to travel – just let us know in the comments or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we can get him on his way!
